The over/under on Minnesota Vikings’ wins in 2011 is 7

The Vikings were 6-10 last year, so they should have gotten a weak schedule in 2011.  That isn’t happening as the Vikings are playing 9 games against teams that had winning records in 2010.  I just don’t see many areas on the Vikings’ roster that have improved since the last time they played a real game.  With that in mind, plus the tough division they play in, I would have to bet on the under for Vikings’ wins in 2011.

The over/under on Minnesota Vikings wins in 2010 is 9.5

The wiseguys in Vegas might be short selling the Vikings a bit coming into this season.  After all, the Vikings were 12-4 in 2009 before bowing out in the NFC Championship Game.  I think that if you think Brett Favre is going to stay healthy you have to bet the over in 2010.  If you think he’s going to break down you have to take the under as the Vikings would have a huge dropoff in play under center.  To me, Favre is the ultimate Iron Man and I would bet the over on wins for the Vikings in 2010.  I would also not be too opposed to putting some bucks down on the Vikings to win the Super Bowl at 11-1.

The over/under for Minnesota Vikings wins in 2008 is 8.5

I think the Vikings have a pretty good football team and I would have no problem suggesting the over if they had a real NFL QB on the roster.  They don’t but I’m still suggesting a small play on the over because of the Vikings’ running game and defense.  I like the Vikings to win 9 or 10 games this season.

The over/under on wins for the Minnesota Vikings is 7 for the 2007 season

I would probably keep my money in my pocket.  The Vikings season will all hinge on how well their WRs and QBs play.  That’s because they have an awesome running game on offense and a great defense against the run.  If the Vikings can get a pass rush going they will graduate to being one of the best overall defenses in the NFL.  I think the linemakers are right about this team as they have the feel of a 7 win team.  I would pass on betting the total.
