The Minnesota Vikings are sending 8 players to the Pro Bowl
The Vikings are sending five offensive players, 2 defensive players and 1 special teams player to the Pro Bowl showing what a well rounded team they have been. 40-year old QB Brett Favre is going to Miami. He has played in 15 games this season for the Vikings and he has completed 338 of 500 passes (67.6%) for 3,886 yards with 29 TD passes and 7 INTs (104.3 QB Rating). 24-year old RB Adrian Peterson has had another outstanding season for the Vikings earning his trip to the Pro Bowl. Peterson has played in 15 games this season for the Vikings and he has carried the ball 305 times for 1,329 yards (4.4 ypc) with 17 TD runs. He has also caught 42 passes for 435 yards (10.4 avg) so far this season. 23-year old WR Sidney Rice improved his game big time earning this honor. He has played in 15 games for the Vikings so far this season and he has caught 77 passes for 1,200 yards (15.6 avg) with 6 TD grabs. 32-year old guard Steve Hutchinson and 30-year old tackle Bryant McKinnie both have started all 15 games this season for the Vikings. These two guys are the biggest reasons why Brett Favre, Adrian Peterson and Sidney Rice are going to the Pro Bowl because they open up holes in the running game and give Favre time to throw the ball. 27-year old DE Jared Allen has been awesome as usual for the Vikings. He has played in 15 games for the Vikings this season and he has made 48 tackles, 6 tackles for a loss, forced 4 fumbles, defensed 4 passes, picked off one pass and he has 13.5 sacks. 29-year old DT Kevin Williams is just a beast in the middle of the D for the Vikings. Williams has played in 15 games for the Vikings this season and he has made 30 tackles, 4 tackles for a loss, forced 1 fumble, defensed 6 passes and he has 6 sacks. 28-year old back-up linebacker Heath Farwell made the Pro Bowl as the special teams player. He has played in 15 games for the Vikings this season and he has made 18 tackles. The Vikings hope that the NFL has problems picking 8 replacements for these guys to play in the Pro Bowl because that would mean that they would be preparing for the Super Bowl instead.
