The Minnesota Vikings didn’t have to worry about blowing a big lead in this game as they never had one.  Donovan McNabb completed 18 of 30 passes for 202 yards with 2 TD passes and 1 INT.  Adrian Peterson didn’t have his best game as the Chiefs were keying on him.  He carried the ball 23 times for 80 yards (3.5 ypc) today.  WR Percy Harvin caught 5 passes for 42 yards (8.4 avg) and he also caught 4 passes for 67 yards (16.8 avg) in this game.  TE Visanthe Shiancoe (6 rec, 58 yards) and WR Devin Aromashodu (1 rec, 34 yards, TD) also had decent games for the Vikings today.  The Vikings rushed for 151 yards on 30 carries (5.0 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 30 passes (60%) for 190 yards as they had possession of the ball for 32:10.

The defense was good against the run today for the Vikings but not so good against the pass.  Safety Husain Abdullah (8 tackles), CB Antoine Winfield (7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) and LB Erin Henderson (6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) led the way for the D today.  DE Jared Allen also pitched in as he had 2 sacks today.  The Chiefs rushed for 103 yards on 28 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 29 passes (62.1%) for 247 yards.  The Vikings are now 0-4 on the year.

The Minnesota Vikings blew another big lead yesterday as they were up 20-0 at the half, before the roof caved in on them.  Donovan McNabb has so-s0 in this game as he completed 22 of 36 passes for 211 yards with 1 TD pass and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 11 yards (5.5 ypc) in this game.  Adrian Peterson carried the ball 17 times for 78 yards (4.6 ypc) with 1 TD run and he also caught 4 passes for 19 yards (4.8 avg).  Michael Jenkins led the way in the passing game for the Vikings with 9 grabs for 88 yards (9.8 avg) in this game.  Percy Harvin caught 3 passes for 47 yards (15.7 avg) and he also carried the ball 2 times for 41 yards (20.5 ypc) in this game.  TEs Kyle Rudolph (3 rec, 39 yards) and Visanthe Shiancoe (1 rec, 8 yards, TD) also pitched in for the Vikings.  The Vikings rushed for 132 yards on 23 carries (5.7 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 36 passes (61.1%) for 189 yards as they had possession for the ball for 27:50.

Henderson (10 tackles), CB Cedric Griffin (8 tackles) and OLB Chad Greenway (8 tackles and 1 tackle for a loss) led the way for the Vikings’ D in this game.  DEs Jared Allen (6 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 3 sacks and 2 QB hits) and Brian Robison (3 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks and 3 QB hits) really amped up the pressure on QB Matthew Stafford of the Lions.  The Lions finished up with 20 yards rushing on 19 carries (1.1 ypc) and they also completed 32 of 46 passes (69.6%) for 338 yards.  The Vikings are now 0-3 on the year.

The Minnesota Vikings were up 17-0 at the half before blowing the game late just like they did against the Chargers in week #1.  Donovan McNabb was much better than he was against the Chargers.  He completed 18 of 30 passes for 228 yards without a TD pass or interception.  He also carried the ball 4 times for 12 yards (3.0 ypc) in this game.  Adrian Peterson was rock solid for the Vikings in this game as he carried the ball 25 times for 120 yards (4.8 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  He also caught 2 passes for 21 yards (10.5 avg).  Toby Gerhart made the most of his limited chances with the football in his hands.  He carried the ball 2 times for 36 yards (18.0 ypc) and he also caught 1 pass for 42 yards.  Percy Harvin was much more involved in the offense yesterday as he caught 7 passes for 76 yards (10.9 avg) and he also carried the ball 2 times for 18 yards (9.0 ypc).  WR Michael Jenkins (3 rec, 29 yards) and TE Visanthe Shiancoe (3 rec, 28 yards) also pitched in for the Vikings in the passing game.  The Vikings finished up with 186 yards rushing on 33 carries (5.6 ypc) and they also completed 18 of 30 passes (60%) for 212 yards as they had the ball for 33:30.

Henderson (6 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) also pitched in defensively for the Vikings.  The Buccaneers rushed for 105 yards on 19 carries (5.5 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 31 passes (71%) for 230 yards.  The Vikings are now 0-2 on the season.

The Vikings built up a 17-7 lead at the half and then the offense went in a shell and the defense got tired.  Donovan McNabb looked pretty awful in his debut for the Vikings.  He completed only 7 of 15 passes for 39 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 3 times for 32 yards (10.7 ypc) in this game.  Adrian Peterson looked sharp as the carried the ball 16 times for 98 yards (6.1 ypc) and he also caught 2 passes for 6 yards yesterday.  Percy Harvin returned the opening kickoff of this game 103 yards for a TD!  He also carried the ball 4 times for 15 yards (3.8 ypc) and he caught 2 passes for 7 yards (3.5 avg).  WR Michael Jenkins led the way for the Vikings in the passing game yesterday with 3 grabs for 26 yards (8.7 avg) and a TD.  The Vikings finished up with 159 yards rushing on 26 carries (6.1 ypc) and they also completed 7 of 15 passes (46.7%) for 28 yards as they only had possession of the ball for 22:43.

The defense played well early in this game but they just seemed to get tired as the game went on.  CB Antoine Winfield (10 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception), safety Jamarca Sanford (9 tackles) and LB Erin Henderson (9 tackles, 3 tackles for a loss, 1 sack and 1 QB hit) led the way for the Vikings in this game.  OLB Chad Greenway (8 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss) and DE Jared Allen (6 tackles, 1/2 a sack, 1 pass defensed, 1 QB hit and 1 interception) also had very solid games for the Vikings yesterday.  The Chargers finished up with 77 yards rushing on 27 carries (2.9 ypc) and they also completed 33 of 48 passes (68.8%) for 330 yards in this game.  The Vikings are now 0-1 on the season.

The Vikings sucked on offense in this game and it was the reason for the loss.  Rookie QB Joe Webb looked like a deer in headlights in this game as he completed 20 of 32 passes for 145 yards with 0 TD passes and 1 INT.  He also carried the ball 5 times for 35 yards (7.0 ypc) in this game.  Adrian Peterson only rushed for 31 yards on 14 carries (2.2 ypc) in this game also adding 2 catches for 2 yards.  Percy Harvin led the way in the passing game for the Vikings with 8 grabs for 69 yards.  The Vikings finished up with 74 yards rushing on 24 carries (3.1 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 32 passes for 137 yards.

The defense wasn’t that impressive as a whole either in this game.  DE Jared Allen came to play as he had 4 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 1/2 a sack, 2 passes defensed, 1 QB hit and a interception that he returned 36 yards for a TD!  Safety Husain Abdullah (9 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss), CB Antoine Winfield (9 tackles) and safety Jamarca Sanford (5 tackles, 1 fumble recovery) also had solid games on D for the Vikings against the Lions.  The Lions finished up with 107 yards rushing on 27 carries (4.0 ypc) and they also completed 28 of 39 passes for 250 yards.  The Vikings finish the 2010 NFL season with a 6-10 record as they were tied for last in the NFC North with the Lions.

Minnesota Vikings 24, Philadelphia Eagles 14

I must admit, I’m shocked at how easily the Vikings when into Philly and spanked the Eagles on their own field.  Rookie QB Joe Webb looked good tonight as he completed 17 of 26 passes for 195 yards with 0 TD passes and 0 INTs.  He also carried the ball 6 times for 31 yards (5.2 ypc) with a TD run.  Adrian Peterson led the way on the ground for the Vikings in this game with 118 yards rushing on 22 carries (5.4 ypc) with 1 TD run.  Percy Harvin (7 rec, 100 yards) and Visanthe Shiancoe (3 rec, 32 yards) led the way in the passing game for the Vikings tonight.  The Vikings finished up with 161 yards rushing on 31 carries (5.2 ypc) and they also completed 17 of 26 passes for 176 yards.

The defense was outstanding for the Vikings in this game as they were really decking Michael Vick a lot in this game.  CB Antoine Winfield was the man tonight as he led the way for the Vikings’ D with 9 tackles, 2 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 QB hit and a forced fumble (Michael Vick) that he recovered and returned 45 yards for a TD!  LB Chad Greenway (9 tackles), DE Jared Allen (4 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, 1 sack, 2 QB hits and 1 fumble recovery) and safety Husain Abdullah (interception) also had big contributions on D for the Vikings in this game.  The Eagles finished up with 107 yards rushing on 22 carries (4.9 ypc) and they also completed 25 of 43 passes for 224 yards.  The Vikings are now 6-9 on the year with this outstanding victory.

The Vikings got punished in the cold last night by the Chicago Bears.  The Vikings were pretty awful in all three phases of the game last night.  They made the mistake of kicking the ball to Devin Hester a couple of times.  Hester returned a kickoff 79 yards and a punt 64 yards for a TD in this game.  Brett Favre made a surprise start last night for the Vikings and he completed 5 of 7 passes for 63 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 INT before leaving the game after a hard sack.  Rookie Joe Webb didn’t look too good.  Webb completed 15 of 26 passes for 129 yards with 0 TD passes and 2 pretty bad INTs.  He did look good running the ball though with 38 yards on 6 carries (6.3 ypc) with a TD run.  Adrian Peterson decided not to play last night so Toby Gerhart got the start and he looked pretty good.  Gerhart carried the ball 16 times for 77 yards (4.8 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 18 yards (6.0 avg).  WR Percy Harvin (5 rec, 72 yards, TD) and TE Visanthe Shiancoe (6 rec, 41 yards) led the way in the passing game for the Vikings last night.  The Vikings finished up with 114 yards on 24 carries (4.8 ypc) and they also completed 20 of 33 passes for 159 yards.

Safety Husain Abdullah (8 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss), LB E.J. Henderson (8 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss), LB Chad Greenway (7 tackles) and CB Asher Allen (3 tackles, 1 pass defensed and 1 interception) led the way for the Vikings’ D last night.  The Bears finished up with 104 yards rushing on 33 carries (3.2 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 24 passes for 189 yards.  The Vikings are now 5-9 on the year.

The Vikings absolutely dominated the Bills in this game.  Brett Favre got drilled on his first pass attempt which resulted in a 40-yard interception return by Bills’ CB Drayton Florence for a TD.  Favre was done for the day after his first pass.  Tarvaris Jackson finished up the game for the Vikings.  Jackson completed 15 of 22 passes for 187 yards with 2 TD passes and 3 INTs in this game.  He also carried the ball 2 times for 22 yards (11.0 ypc) in this game.  Adrian Peterson led the way for the Vikings on the ground in this game with 107 yards rushing on 16 carries (6.7 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  Toby Gerhart (12 carries, 54 yards) and Albert Young (10 carries, 27 yards) also pitched in for the Vikings on the ground in this game.  WR Sidney Rice had a huge game for the Vikings with 5 catches for 110 yards (22.0 avg) with 2 TD grabs.  The Vikings finished up with 210 yards rushing on 40 carries (5.3 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 23 passes for 177 yards as they had possession of the ball for 33:57.

The defense was outstanding for the Vikings yesterday!  LB Chad Greenway (7 tackles) and safety Husain Abdullah (7 tackles) led the way for the Vikings’ D in this game.  CB Antoine Winfield (INT), LB Ben Leber (FR), CB Frank Walker (FR) and DE Brian Robison (2 FR) also made huge plays for the D yesterday.  The Bills finished up with 84 yards rushing on 23 carries (3.7 ypc) and they also completed 15 of 25 passes for 155 yards.  The Vikings are now 5-7 on the season.
