Minnesota Vikings 29, Oakland Raiders 22
The Vikings offense really played well yesterday and the defense was just good enough to hold off Daunte Culpepper (311 yards passing) and the Raiders. Tavaris Jackson had one of his better games of the season as he completed 17 of 22 passes for 171 yards with a interception. He also carried the ball 3 times for 19 yards (6.3 ypc). Sidney Rice pitched in with two really good passes that he completed for 94 yards. Chester Taylor had a monster game starting in place of the injured Adrian Peterson. Taylor carried the ball 22 times for 164 yards (7.5 ypc) with 3 TD runs and he also caught 3 passes for 38 yards (12.7 avg). TE Visanthe Shiancoe (2 rec, 94 yards) and WR Bobby Wade (5 rec, 45 yards) both had solid games. The Vikings finished up with 228 yards rushing on 32 carries (7.1 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 24 passes for 250 yards.
The Vikings defense was solid against the run but they had problems with the Raiders passing game. DT Pat Williams led the Vikings with 9 tackles. LBs Chad Greenway (7 tackles, fumble recovery, sack) and E.J. Henderson (6 tackles, sack) also had solid games for the Vikings’ defense. The Raiders finished up with 61 yards rushing on 27 carries (2.3 ypc) and they also completed 23 of 39 passes for 311 yards.
