4. (102) Chris Robison, DE

Chris Robison came to Texas as a linebacker but then he added some bulk and played DE for them.  His pass rushing moves are pretty raw and will need some refining and he’s not much of a run defender.  Still, Robison has the size (6′2″, 275) and speed (4.8 40) to develop into a good DE at the pro level but it will likely take a little bit of time.  Where Robison will immediately help the Vikings is on special teams as he blocked 6 kicks at Texas over his career.  In 49 games (36 starts) at Texas, Robison made 181 tackles, 41 tackles for a loss, had 14 sacks, batted down 9 passes, forced 4 fumbles and recovered 2 fumbles.  Robison was a good pick by the Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings re-sign DE Darrion Scott

The Vikings have re-signed Darrion Scott to a 1-year contract.  The Vikings and the improving Scott discussed a longer term contract but decided on a 1-year deal which could motivate Scott to play all out in 2007 to get the big bucks in 2008 and beyond.  He played in all 16 games last season for the Vikings and he made 46 tackles, had 5.5 sacks, defensed 2 passes and forced a fumble.
