The Vikings spent alot of money to bring in Chester Taylor and the results were mixed.  He started 15 games and carried the ball 303 times for 1,216 yards (4.0 ypc) with 6 TD runs.  He also caught 42 passes for 288 yards (6.9 avg).  For his career, Taylor has played in 77 games (23 starts) and he’s carried the ball 676 times for 2,815 yards (4.2 ypc) with 10 TD runs.  He also has caught 147 passes for 1,025 yards (7.0 avg) with 3 TD catches.

Artose Pinner did a good job when given a chance.  He played in 12 games (1 start) and carried the ball 43 times for 190 yards (4.4 ypc) with 3 TD runs.  He also caught 2 passes for 15 yards.  For his career, Pinner has played in 40 games (7 starts) and carried the ball 245 times for 812 yards (3.3 ypc) with 8 TD runs.  He also caught 39 passes for 308 yards (7.9 avg).

Mewelde Moore was the forgotten man of the offense and that made no sense at all.  He played in all 16 games and carried the ball 24 times for 131 yards (5.5 ypc).  He also caught 46 passes for 468 yards (10.2 avg) with 1 TD catch.  For his career, Moore has played in 42 games (11 starts) and he’s carried the ball 244 times for 1,172 yards (4.8 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He has also caught 110 passes for 1,045 yards (9.5 avg) with 3 TD catches.

Ciatrick Fason only played in 5 games, but he ran the ball well when he got it.  Fason carried the ball 18 times for 99 yards (5.5 ypc) with 1 TD run.  He also caught 3 passes for 19 yards (6.3 ypc).  For his career, Fason has played in 18 games and has carried the ball 50 times for 161 yards (3.2 ypc) with 5 TD runs.  He also has caught 3 passes for 19 yards (6.3 avg).

Fullback Tony Richardson did a great job blocking for the Vikings until his season was cut short due to injury.  Richardson carried the ball 5 times for 12 yards (2.4 ypc).  He also caught 13 passes for 111 yards (8.5 avg).  For his career, Richardson has played in 172 games (103 starts) and he’s carried the ball 400 times for 1,588 yards (4.0 ypc) with 15 TD runs.  He also caught 190 passes for 1,409 yards (7.4 avg) with 9 TD catches.

Brad Childress….offensive genius?

Brad Childress came to the Vikings with the reputation of being an offensive genius.  You wouldn’t know that from watching the Vikings play this season as the offense was awful.  Childress also has to get along better with his players and quit being such a hard ass.  The Vikings finished a disappointing 6-10 (37.5%) in Childress first season.  He better shape up if he wants this job to be a long term one.

Vikings’ QB position a huge black hole on the team

The Vikings have a washed up QB (Brad Johnson), a raw rookie (Tavaris Jackson) and a not very talented QB (Brooks Bollinger).  So you can see where a huge hole on the Vikings roster is.

Brad Johnson played in 15 games (14 starts) and completed 270 of 439 passes (61.5%) for 2,750 yards with 9 TD passes and 15 interceptions (72.0 QB Rating).  He also ran the ball 29 times for 82 yards (2.8 ypc) with 1 TD run.  For his career, Johnson has played in 145 games (122 starts) and has completed 2,620 of 4,237 passes (61.8%) for 28,548 yards with 164 TD passes and 117 interceptions (83.1 QB Rating).  He also has carried the football 269 times for 663 yards (2.5 ypc) with 8 TD runs.

Rookie Tavaris Jackson played in 4 games (2 starts) and he completed 47 of 81 passes (58%) for 475 yards with 2 TD passes and 4 interceptions (62.5 QB Rating).  He also carried the ball 15 times for 77 yards (5.1 ypc) with 1 TD run.

Brooks Bollinger appeared in 2 games and completed 13 of 18 passes (72.2%) for 146 yards with 1 interception (72.9 QB Rating).  For his career, Bollinger has played in 14 games (9 starts) and has completed 168 of 293 passes (57.3%) for 1,764 yards with 7 TD passes and 7 interceptions (73.0 QB Rating).  He has also run the ball 36 times for 137 yards (3.8 ypc).
